In November 2005 we were very sad to lose our cherished John VanDuzer. He was both a family and a board member. As a Foundation, we wanted to find a way to permanently honour his memory.
Read more »We were searching for something that would reflect the spirit of his life’s work, his love of family, his gift for storytelling and his great sense of humour. In 2006 we gave a seed grant to the Toronto International Film Festival to establish the John VanDuzer Children’s Film Collection. It is the first such collection in the world and is an active international collection dedicated to children’s and family film, made up of contemporary works from countries around the world. The collection is to be used for Bell Lightbox programming and is available as rentals to teachers within the TDSB.
